Hello from Sarasota! Kristina and I made a day trip to see the Ringling Estate and ogle fine art. Whee!
Outfit details: vintage Levi's (obsessed with these), Lack of Color hat, Old Navy shirt, vintage loafers, vintage bag (similar under $200, or this crazy one; similar under $100), vintage scarf, vintage belt (similar).
Sarasota, and the Ringling Estate in particular, is such a lovely place to spend the day. There are multiple art galleries, a circus museum, a rose garden, and of course the seaside Ca' d'Zan. The latter was the home to Mable and John Ringling, built in the 1920s by architect Dwight James Baum. It was built in Venetian Gothic style, and was inspired by the couple's European travels. I definitely suggest paying the extra $20 to take a 40 minute guided tour of the house (If you're a college student, there are huge discounts!).
This outfit felt like I was Katharine Hepburn on a 1940s safari. There's something so painfully chic about slouchy, worn-in Levi's. I fished this pair out of thrift store oblivion a few months ago...they're way too big to wear without a belt, and there's an ink stain on one of the knees, but I adore them. I added polish the look with my cotton-candy pink Lack of Color boater hat and a classic white button down.
These white loafers are quickly becoming one of my wardrobe staples! I would have guessed white shoes impractical, but they are neutral enough to actually go with everything. I'm debating whether or not to pick up the Everlane modern loafers in black, or hold out for another pair of white or beige shoes.
