I love any excuse to dress up. I wish I could have grown up in the 1940s/50s and experienced a culture where hats, gloves, and stockings were commonplace along with good manners and gorgeous cars (a Chevy Bel Air or a convertible Thunderbird would suit me just fine!).

As such, getting "dolled-up" for me always includes a nod to the 50s. These kidskin gloves are the perfect accessory. They're chic, prevent me from checking my phone when I'm bored, and I am prepared in case I need to challenge someone to a duel!

This month is racing by ever faster, before we know it it will be holiday season. I'm trying to find small opportunities to slow down and savor my time. My ladies' book club (Paperback Social Club) just finished The Dollhouse by Fiona Davis, and we're picking out December's book this week.

I also went on (another) closet rampage and weeded out a bunch of stuff, then spent a good couple of hours cleaning, polishing, and storing all my leather and suede accessories. If you don't already have a suede brush and leather polishing kit, I highly suggest you pick them up! Just a little maintenance will seriously extend the life of those items.
