It's been a while since a season has revolved so heavily around a few, key trends as this summer. You can't throw a croissant in a room full of fashion girls without hitting a basket bag, anything gingham, or a linen sun dress. Ok, weird analogy, but you get my point.
Luckily, these trends are widely available in all the high street and thrift shops. Linen is probably my favorite trend of the season, because it perfectly embodies summer in the South of France, sun drenched strawberries on a picnic blanket with rosé, and all that good stuff.
It's also a very breathable fabric, which helps when you live in an actively erupting volcano of UV rays, aka Florida.
The key to wearing linen this summer is to:
1. Find linen pieces in a variety of light/neutral colors. This might just be a personal preference, but black and navy linen feels vaguely Trappist monk to me.
2. Accept the fact that it's going to wrinkle the second you put it on.
3. Style with statement jewelry and a beach-ready basket bag or tote.
