I remember the moment I realized I was most decidedly an "autumn:" that muted earth tones and jewel tones were best suited for me.
I had just received a gorgeous Everlane silk top in the mail, after saving my extra cash to afford it. I tried it on and rapturously felt the luxe silk. Fast forward two months, and I still hadn't worn it out of the house. I tried, almost daily, to match it with something but it never looked just right.
Reading "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" finally shed some light on the issue: the shirt looked like shit on my complexion, and rather than hanging on and trying to salvage value out of the shirt, I should just take it as a lesson and move on.
Fast forward to today, and this new silk shirt. It's a silly sort of re-do of that first silk blouse... and I am feeling inspired by this olive and forest green color combo. I'm pretty sure my current style is a cross between Jerry Seinfeld and Gianni Versace... not even mad.
Outfit details: vintage wool trousers, Forever 21 houndstooth block heels, Gianni silk blouse, vintage purse.
