Leather Weather

Hello, old friend.

I always roll my eyes when I read blog posts that start out with “omg so sorry I haven’t posted in foreverrrr” and yet here I am. Saying sorry I haven’t posted in forever.

Honestly, I’ve been crazy busy. School, work, internship, vintage shop, and rescuing a super sick stray kitten who had to have his eye removed due to a vicious infection. Since buying our house, all extra money goes into boring things like fences and landscaping, and I have been feeling uninspired by all my clothes.

Luckily, the temperature dropped this week and I pulled some winter clothes out of storage. I had all but forgotten about this leather skirt. Something about the oversized/slightly boxy fit with the super high slit is giving me #oldceline vibes. I think the easiest way to look high fashion is oversized pieces, and the combo of the skirt with my trusty camel hair coat makes me so happy.

Paired with my favorite turtleneck (super lightweight, perfect for layering) and the most comfortable heels I own (dying for these in more colors) this is pretty much my winter uniform.

I’ve been thinking lots about capsule wardrobes lately, because I’m contemplating a BIG hair change (think Jean Seberg in Breathless, 1960). Let’s just say the future holds a lot of turtle-and-bateau neck tops, cropped trousers, and mini dresses.

outfit details: vintage leather skirt, vintage camel hair coat (this one is perfect but priceyyy), Everlane “Day Heels” in cognac suede, J.Crew “Tissue Turtleneck,” New Yorker tote bag, vintage patent belt.
